Time for a romantic holiday
We can’t quite find words for our current weather that are fit to print, but suffice to say that we are not impressed. Look out of your window now. If you see anything other than fog, rain, sleet or hail, skip this article and rest assured that we are wallowing in self-pity - and jealousy.
Everyone else: we’ve been thinking right now would be a good time for a romantic holiday. As in: sunny, warm, romantic holiday. Romantic holiday on a beach. That rules out pretty much anywhere in this part of the world, so grab your boyfriend or girlfriend, get thee to thy travel agent (or, you know, travel website) and fly to one of our top five romantic holiday destinations for the dreary winter months:
1. Thailand A favourite with honeymooners, offering white beaches, turquoise water and fantastic food. A lot of luxury resorts specialising in romantic holidays have winter offers you can afford even if your boyfriend or girlfriend isn’t a big earner.
2. Florida If your romantic holiday involves kids (your own, your boyfriend’s, your girlfriend’s, who knows these days), the sunshine state offers plenty of distraction for the little ones while you enjoy the weather and maybe even some time alone…
3. Mexico In case you’re interested in something a little more exciting than long walks on the beach, Mexico offers mountains, volcanos, wildlife and culture, along with great nightlife.
4. Australia For a city trip in the sun, try Melbourne, Perth or Sidney. The beaches are never far away, either!
5. Kenya Feeling adventurous? Then go for an African safari. Unless your boyfriend or girlfriend is scared of wild animals, that is.
Think of us while you’re enjoying your romantic holiday, because while you’re on a sunny beach, we’ll probably still be trying to come up with words for this $%&*§* weather that are fit to print.
