This love story isn’t new, but particularly in the days before Christmas, we all need a heartwarming love story that makes you believe in true love (at any age). (more…)

Online Personals Illustrated

Thursday, September 4th, 2008

The problem with online personals? They’re so abstract. You just can’t picture the people looking for love, friendships and hookups, when all you get is online personals with a few, albeit well-chosen, words. The results are by turn interesting, funny and fascinating. Much as online personals can be more or less explicit, some of the drawings are cute and romantic, some pretty dirty. They definitely do a great job at bringing the people looking for love to life, for instance this sexy stewardess looking for a „passenger“.

Intense Love Stories make for Great Viral Marketing

Wednesday, August 13th, 2008

Intense love stories are usually found in Hollywood films, in novels and, of course, here. A great viral marketing campaing is shamelessly (and successfully) targeting our weak spot for a good love story to generate interest for a new novel. And it’s working – this video is only one of many on the site, but once you start watching, the love stories become so compelling it’s almost impossible to stop.

Pretty amazing that seemingly stuffy book publishers have successfully done what record companies have been trying for years: using viral marketing effectively and engagingly.

Artsy Online Dating

Monday, August 4th, 2008

Online dating goes artsy! Blue and pink balloons show who is looking for love online, what they’re looking for and what they’re offering in this interactive piece of art currently showing at the MoMA. The artists don’t just show who is looking for love online, but also why – „I want you to want me“ is the title of the piece and also the sentiment that unites the men and women looking for love through online dating!

And if you’re wondering who the song is by: originally it’s these guys, another version is here.
