Aphrodisiacs and Other Recipes for Falling in Love

Now that we know all about the chemicals involved with falling in love, how about getting those chemicals flowing with some aphrodisiacs? You know that a home-cooked meal is always a good idea for a romantic date – man… heart… stomach… you get the picture. Now make it even more romantic by using special ingredients that will have him (or her) falling in love course by course.
The drink of choice for a romantic dinner date is, of course, champagne. Alcohol increases your confidence while lowering inhibitions, but beware the overdose, which is not romantic at all. Better to save some for later possible bellybutton-sipping (this is not your first date, right?)
The staple aphrodisiac starter is the oyster. Some tests have shown that oysters can increase testosterone levels and legend has it that romantic hero Casanova, who had no shortage of ladies falling in love with him, ate raw oysters for breakfast.
The reputation of asparagus as an aphrodisiac seems to be largely based on its shape (use your imagination….), but it is great for romantically feeding to your date. Once you have him eating out of your hand, he’ll be falling in love before you know it. Serve the asparagus on a bed of arugula, a salad used as an aphrodisiac in ancient Rome!
Of course, no romantic meal is complete without strawberries. More occasion for romantic feeding, ideally with some of that champagne you saved for the end of your date. Chocolate raises serotonin-levels, making you feel happy, so you can serve some to round off the date.
At this stage, you should be well on your way to falling in love, with a little help from these aphrodisiacs.
