Sex Education on MTV or: How to Embarrass your Kid in Public

Tuesday, September 30th, 2008

Sex education is important, most will probably agree. Of course parents need to take on at least some of the responsibility for the sex education of their teenage kids. Nevertheless, conversations about sexual education between kids and parents are embarrassing for everyone involved (as most people can probably remember when they cast their mind back to that painful conversation about the birds and the bees). So one might wonder if the idea proposed by MTV, to televise those conversations about sex education with mum and dad, is so clever. That sounds like more public embarrassment than your average „I’m a Celebrity…“.

But(!) sex education can actually be fun, without being embarrassing at all, as this video proves:

Not Aging Gracefully - Love Quote

Friday, September 26th, 2008

Last week, we got some advice on aging gracefully from Brigitte Bardot, this week Lucy Ball has a great tip on not aging gracefully:

“The secret of staying young is to live honestly, eat slowly, and lie about your age.”

— Lucille Ball

Sexy Scientist Turns into Sexy Stripper - Thanks to the Science of Wonderbra

Thursday, September 25th, 2008

In this Wonderbra ad, a sexy scientist turns into a sexy stripper - thanks to the sex bom gene she discovers under the microscope, which then turns into a Wonderbra, which turns her lab coat into sexy lingerie and… well, the details are a little sketchy, but the sexy scientist turns into a sexy stripper, but not just any sexy stripper - she turns into Dita von Teese, the new Wonderbra spokesmodel. Obviously, performing in her underwear is second nature to the professional stripper. Now she’s branching out into lingerie design - and making sure her own designs sell well with this spot ;-)

Unmarried Couples – No Need to Rush It

Tuesday, September 23rd, 2008

Unmarried couples cohabiting isn’t widely frowned upon any more, but - as any unmarried couple living in the vicinity of older unmarried ladies will attest to – it is still regarded as „living in sin“ by some.

Aging Gracefully - Love Quote

Friday, September 19th, 2008

The still beautiful Brigitte Bardot seems to have taken her own advice regarding her outer appearance, as she is aging gracefully and seems to live within the age she is. Her mind, however, is obviously a different matter, as her increasingly unwise rants show.

“What could be more beautiful than a dear old lady growing wise with age? Every age can be enchanting, provided you live within it.”

- Brigitte Bardot

Typical: Cheap Sluts and Cool Studs

Wednesday, September 17th, 2008

The idea is quite funny - a sexual encounter-counter (so to speak) for modern, sexually active women. sexual encounter-counter for slutsA girl wouldn’t want to lose track of all her sexual encounters, so she presses the button each time she has sex, thus keeping track of her conquests. Other sexually active women gasp in disbelief at the impressive number, etc.

The fact that the gadget is called Slutometer isn’t necessarily offensive, either. Obviously, it’s tongue-in-cheek and most sexually active women can probably laugh at that type of „insult“. (more…)

b2, betoo, betwo, 2b, 2be, beto, Be2 and other ways not to spell be2

Tuesday, September 16th, 2008

be2 matchmakingbe2 is misspelled every now and again. Well, that can happen. We make typos, too (and end up here, for instance :-)), but when you enter b2, betoo, betwo, 2b, 2be or beto in a search engine, you’ll have some trouble finding the matchmaking agency be2 in the search results.

So, once more for everyone (take a note, tell your friends):

be2 is spelled be2 (be2.com for matchmaking in the US, be2.co.uk for matchmaking in the UK, be2.ie for matchmaking in Ireland, be2.com.au for matchmaking in Australia)

PS: Be2 isn’t as bad a misspelling, but we prefer be2.

Keep up the good spelling.

Love and Happiness Quote of the Week

Friday, September 12th, 2008

Much like love, happiness is hard to define, can be hard to find and hard to hold on to. This love quote sums all that up in a fitting analogy that could be applied to love and happiness.

“Happiness is as a butterfly which, when pursued is always beyond our grasp, but if you sit down quietly may alight upon you.”

- Nathaniel Hawthorne

Staying Friends with Your Ex – Pros and Cons

Wednesday, September 10th, 2008

Staying friends with your ex is one of those topics that always leads to a debate, because everyone sees it differently. We were reminded of this eternal topic by this article about contacting your exes. In this case, staying friends with your exes, or even contacting them, was obviously a bad idea.

So we decided to sum up all the most common pros and cons of staying friends with your ex. Whether you are swayed by the pros or the cons is up to you.

Staying friends with your ex - PROs:

  1. In addition to the sexual and emotional aspect, a relationship is usually based on many shared interests or passions. Just because the aforementioned aspects are no longer relevant to your relationship after breaking up, doesn’t mean you don’t still have a lot in common.
  2. Friendships, just like relationships, are valuable. If you have built a friendship AND a relationship, you shouldn’t just give the former up.
  3. As soon as emotions are out of the picture, your ex can become a valuable relationship consultant. Looking back, you can learn from your mistakes.

Pill Poppers Pick Bad Men

Monday, September 8th, 2008

find the right man – better use these Most women want to find the right man (at least those that are interested in men do), but most women want a few years to pass between finding the right man and getting pregnant by him, so they use contraceptives. And because most women use the pill to this end, the following result of a study should be of interest: If women want to find the right man, they shouldn’t be on the pill when dating.
