Summer of Love – California Makes it Official for all Couples

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Most couples, once they know they’ve found the love of their life and it’s the real thing, want to make it official. Most countries, however, don’t allow same-sex couples to make it official, i.e. marry.

California is now allowing same-sex couples to make the love of their life official, even if the marriages are not necessarily recognised in other states or countries. Yesterday, the first same-sex couple was wed in Los Angeles and in the coming weeks hundreds of couples from all over the world will follow, eager to avail of this opportunity.

In California, they are already calling it the second Summer of Love.

Romantic Swedish Wedding

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Can you imagine anything more romantic than a wedding at IKEA? No? Then this might be the perfect wedding for you.

To celebrate the premiere of “Mamma Mia!” 20 lucky couples are invited to have their wedding in a California branch of the Swedish furniture store. Romantic, right? They’re even throwing in a Swedish spread (lots of Koettbullar, presumably), a shopping voucher and, the highlight of the romantic extravaganza, a screening of the Filmusical – which is also about a wedding.

Doesn’t that just scream “dream wedding”!
