Not Really a Love Quote

Friday, December 28th, 2007

Will Shakespeare, the old romantic, is always good for a love quote. Here’s one from his will. It would melt a heart of stone, it’s so romantic.

I give unto my wife my second best bed, with the furniture.

- William Shakespeare

Love Quote for Gold-Diggers

Friday, December 21st, 2007

A word or two about women who marry a man only for his money and men who marry a woman only for her looks: They deserve each other!

“A successful man is one who makes more money than his wife can spend. A successful woman is one who can find such a man.”

- Lana Turner

Love Quote for Every Wife

Friday, December 14th, 2007

We already knew this: the wife tends to be the boss in a marriage, right?

“Let us now set forth one of the fundamental truths about marriage: the wife is in charge.”

- Bill Cosby

Wedding of the Internet Year

Monday, December 10th, 2007

We talk about love. On the internet. So we couldn’t but pick up on the love story everyone has been talking (and blogging) about. It concerns love and the internet (and possibly Leonardo DiCaprio, Johnny Depp and Bill Clinton).

Google co-founder Larry Page and girlfriend Lucy Southworth celebrated their wedding, rumoured to have been attended by those named above, on a Caribbean private island last weekend. Just months after the wedding of Sergeji Brin, the other founder of the search engine, Page and girlfriend flew 600 wedding guests from all over the world to fellow billionaire Richard Branson’s Necker Island.

Ironically, this carbon-footprint enlarging extravaganza takes place just a week after the Global Climate Change Conference, which Google participated in as part of its eco-friendly campaign. They obviously love the environment at Google. Just not as much as they love to celebrate a lavish wedding.

Nevertheless, we love a good love story, so we’re glad this Silicon Valley love story has a happy ending!

Kind Love Quote

Friday, December 7th, 2007

This love quote isn’t about romantic love. more about the “love thy neighbour” kind of love.

“Spread love everywhere you go: first of all in your own house. Give love to your children, to your wife or husband, to a next door neighbor… Let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier. Be the living expression of God’s kindness; kindness in your face, kindness in your eyes, kindness in your smile, kindness in your warm greeting.”

- Mother Teresa
